eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

“ DEAL .” bright smile graces his features, bringing back what was lost. youth. oh how it faded. looked more grown then the boy he was. now that boy was back & shining. it suited him. “ i’m suh-sure we can f-f-find sum-something for nuh-next time .” over a short time he had accumulated quite a collection of cookbooks. there was bound to be something that they could find. lord knows he had not tried every recipe inside their pages. about time he gives them a try. “ the w-water is ruh-ready, shuld-should i go g-get the french fries ?” sure enough the water bubbles & boils. time for step two.
selfish as it might be , in bill lives a chance for kate’s redemption . a chance to fix something , comfort him , nurture him in a way that makes her feel better : let her feel her own mother’s presence through the way she cares for the child . ❝ sure thing , honey . go grab the fries , please . ❞ she gives him a smile , kindness lit from within : she pours the macaroni into the pot and pulls a wooden spoon from a drawer to stir leisurely .
