eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

he stands there like she’s the first thing he’s seeing since waking up , which , actually , might be true , cause he can’t remember if he’s just been in a dream or if this is … reality . again , this affliction’s gonna kill him one day , and he knows it , and amy’s doing everything she can not to let that happen . but here he is , sitting up against a wall a few BLOCKS from poole’s office , he thinks for the first time in two hours after a good , hard knockout , with nothing to show for it . he smoothes a hand through his hair , blinking twice . then again . ❝ hi … what … ?❞
despite her best efforts , she can’t curb the empathy that prevails . part of her is still a preacher’s daughter , at least if you pay attention to the concern that lights in her eyes . ❝ i asked if you’re okay ….. ❞ green gaze drags , up and down , over his disheveled appearance . ❝ cause …. you really don’t look okay . ❞ she half wonders if he’s homeless , or maybe hungry . slender fingers dig through her purse , unearths a still - wrapped granola bar she’d meant to eat for breakfast . ❝ here . take this , alright ? ❞
