angel tears.

eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

    “ kate!  listen,  alright,  i  need  you  to  listen  to  me  .  .  .  you’re  dying.” seth couldn’t bring himself to dwell on how he had let it get this bad, whether it was because he had simply been too blind, too distracted to had seen the signs or if kate had just become that good at lying. seth held her face in his hands, tipping her chin back so that he could look her in the eyes  ——  the culebra could survive on food for a few days but sooner or later they needed to FEED. he had seen it with richard, the way that starvation could drive him into a blanked out frenzy but hell  .  .  .  too much time had past, if she didn’t feed soon then she wouldn’t survive the night.

           “ you  need  to  feed,  please!”
