no. also, i know you’re probably joking, but i definitely dont think they were ‘besties’ either. despite the attraction and feelings kate held towards seth, during this time she never saw him as someone she could have a future with romantically. he was messy and dangerous and she didn’t feel safe with him. she saw him fall apart and put himself back together on the daily, and even assisted in his heroin habits to put him to sleep when she needed him to stop breathing down her neck. the cadence of the argument shown in season two episode one shows that in kate’s point of view, he was trying to smother her instincts to be independent and learn how to take care of herself (despite them being in less than legal ways). it was also pretty clear that it was an argument they had many times. either way, i definitely think kate held some sort of feelings towards him, but it wasn’t something she’d ever act on, especially not when he was so clearly not someone she could be with in a healthy and well-reciprocated way.
