eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

“ OKAY !” with a smile at the prospect of next time & orders given he does what he is told. pot gathered. filled with water. bring it to a boil . familiar steps. done countless times before. a meal for one. tonight he’s not alone. enough for two. with this fact the kitchen feels more alive. more like a kitchen should be. the warm feeling of people gathered around to cook together. well at least a boy & his babysitter. watching the water he turns, nose wrinkling. ” french fries with m-m-mac n cheese ?“ childish laughter. the idea sounds funny to him. what a weird combination! but then he rarely got creative when preparing his meals. stuck to basics. perhaps time to branch out. ” d-d-does that even t-t-taste guh-good ?“

             she  hums  happily  as  she  bustles  around ,  _{ponytail  swinging .  a  few  more  times  babysitting ,  and  she’s  sure  she’ll  be  belting  silly  songs  just  to  make  him  laugh .  but  for  now  she  just  dances  across  the  kitchen  to  her  own  humming ,  setting  butter  /  cheese  /  milk  in  a  neat  line  on  the  counter .  a  goofy  smile  breaks  across  her  face  like  an  ocean  wave ,  cheeks  dimpling .  ❝  well  –  mac  &  cheese  is  good ,  and  french  fries  are  good !  so  it should  be  good ,  right ?  ❞   ——  can’t  help  but  laugh  at  herself ,  now ,  giving  a  small  shake  of  her  head  at  herself .  ❝  guess  we’re  gonna  find  out ,  huh ?  if  it’s  really  bad  we’ll  get  that  pizza  sooner  rather  than  later .  ❞}
