eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

     what does she hope to gain from his answer? they both know that kol’s the bogeyman. stories are told about him in the supernatural community. the wily fox, the ruthless & most psychotic mikaelson. people fear him & rightly so. he’s slaughtered villages & burnt down kingdoms for fun.  “ do you want to feel better about yourself, is that it? do you want to know the real answer, kate? i’ve killed people by the thousands. i’ve killed & i’ll kill again because i like it. what you’ve done is far less then what i have done. the only difference is that you regret it. “

            she’s  not  scared  of  him !  _{not  even  a  bit   /   his  bloody  hands  don’t  make  her  flinch ,  not  when  her  own  have  bled  bodies  empty  of  their  souls .  she  blinks  at  him ,  slow  and  lazy ,  a  blatant  refusal  to  get  riled  the  way  he  wants .  she  won’t  fall  for  this  provocation .  lips  purse  slightly ,  she  offers  a  shake  of  her  head .  ❝  you’re  not  as  big  &  bad  as  you  think  y’  are ,  kol .  you  just  sound  like  a  scared  little  boy .  ❞  and  it’s  true ,  she  thinks :  just  another  way  for  him  to  drive  everyone  away .  she  doesn’t  believe  him ,  not  all  the  way .  maybe  part  of  him  does  enjoy  it ,  but  she’s  also  more  than  convinced  that  something  human  still  lives  inside  of  him .}
