eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

            she was fresh meat, you know. the girls had their eyes set on her! wouldn’t it be fun to corrupt the new girl! the preachers daughter! oh, carol, vicky and tina were as much menaces as tommy was. “yeah, wheeler. i don’t know what he saw in her. a little too meek for my tastes,” tommy likes his women to have some bite to them. i mean, carol was a great example. “did we report him? no. it’s fine, though. jonathan got arrested for fighting stevie boy. kicked his ass!” you know, since he’s not friends with steve anymore, he has to throw him under the bus. ( oh, how he hates it. ) “hell, i don’t know. do i look like a lawyer?”

             she  feels  a  little  out  of  place  _{in  hawkins :  no  real  friends  yet ,  a  dead  mom  &  alcoholic  father ,  adopted  brother ,  and  an  after  school  job  she  works  far  too  often .  she  gives  a  small  shrug ,  strawberry  lip  gloss  mouth  pursed  slightly  with  thought .  ❝  nancy  seems  cool  enough .  ❞  just  cause  people  are  loud  doesn’t  make  ‘em  interesting !  ❝  —-  oh ,  gosh .  that’s …  a  lot .  ❞  the  drama  of  it  all !  nothing  that  exciting  happened  in  bethel ,  or  maybe  kate  just  wasn’t  in  the  loop .  ❝  no ,  ya  don’t .  but  y’  look  like  someone  who’s  been  in  indiana  a  lot  longer  than  i  have ,  soo ….  ❞  lips  pressed  together ,  eyebrows  raised ,  she  shrugs  again .   ❝  i  dunno  who  steve  is .  ❞  she’s  not  so  familiar  with  those  fallen  from  grace  /  though  maybe  she  ought  to  be !  ❝  seems  like  you  know  all  th’  hot  gossip ,  huh .  ❞}
