eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

PLUMP LIPS SPREAD INTO A SMILE, eyeing her warily for a moment, before relaxing. emerald hues find their way to the smaller girl’s, head canting to the side slightly. she grins, giggling quietly to herself. “ you don’t know ? “ she leans forwards, the grin still evident. “ stories of the gecko brothers, & the preacher’s daughter, fighting demons from XIBALBA, walking through the gates of hell to expel their queen. it’s all anyone is talking about. “ she smiles, before leaning back into her seat, glancing around the room. “ you too. i wasn’t gonna say it but, i’m a big fan. “ she hums, leaning back a little more. glances over the girl’s shoulder to the man who had been eyeing her, a brow raising. a challenge. “ i kinda get some of it, though. my brother, he uh, - he’s one of them. a culebra. “ a little forwards ? perhaps. she doesn’t care.
VOICE IS QUIET, a little weak as she lets out an ‘ oh. ’ she’s not sure why the idea of people talking about her never crossed her mind, but it’s unsettling. really unsettling. ‘ you make it sound so glamorous. ’ when in reality it was blood and guts, the memory of the way it felt to take someone’s soul, cup it in her hands and drink it in like water from a fall. ‘ i didn’t know i had fans, ’ kate muses - truly, she did what she assumes anyone would do. ‘ my brother is a culebra, too. ’ of course, she hasn’t kept in such close contact with scott since xibalba - she assumes he’s hurt she refused to go with him. she just COULDN’T, though; all she’d wanted was to afford scott a chance at a normal life. & that wouldn’t happen, not with kate around. ‘ what’s your brother’s name ? do i know him ? ’
