angel tears.

eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

                   _{THE BOY IS ATTENTIVE, polite— if not genuinely interested. Small talk irked him, when it came from strangers & without his asking. But the LANGDON boy had ask & the girl was receptive. Perhaps a little too honest. Tate had to render some respect to her— though he found immediate discomfort in her response. “Ah.” It was all he could manage ( & a nod ). “Got ya.” It was easy to see ( for him, an odd ability — the ease to read others ) he’d reach a sensitive subject & TACT was not his forte. Before he knew it, he’d let an awkward pause go by. In result came an idea— to move on from the matter. ( as it was a LOT easier than apologizing for intruding. )}

                  _{“Do you believe in it though?” Surely, he NEEDN’T explain himself.}

              _{SHE DOESN’T MIND a little prying. kate knows how, at this point, to offer enough information to sate people’s curiosity but keep private things private. pink lips purse slightly at the question - this is not a conversation she pictured herself having today. or anytime soon, really. it’s something she’s been WRESTLING with on her own; but confrontation is happening now, she guesses. DOES she believe ? months ago the answer would have been yes. with all her heart. but she’s seen things since then, LITERALLY gone to hell and back. god did nothing to save her. where was god when the queen of hell tried to force kate out of her own body ? prayers went unanswered. small hum as she thinks over her answer carefully.}
