eve becomes SNAKE -- or snake becomes EVE. whichever way ROUND, she is FREER. hell follows her ‘round, hell called MAN, hell called ADAM, trying to make the CHANGING about him. adam demands of god why he is being PUNISHED like this. eve finds GRACE in the dark cracks between rocks. eve finds god in the SOLITUDE. eve finds ABSOLUTION in the red press of her knees / scales into the dirt. eve, UNBLINKING, watches adam rail. adam demands ANSWERS and eve / snake / eve exits the GARDEN to go and find them for HERSELF.

❛ oh, PLEASE. he’ll love you and you know it! ❜ one last smile is exchanged before the door is pushed open, and it isn’t long before the sound of a metal collar’s clanging fills the room. the chihuahua runs to easton, jumping up at his legs before he’s got a chance to take his shoes off.
❛ someone’s excited! ❜ the grin on his face is wide as he scoops the dog up and turns to kate, excited to show off his beloved pet. the tiny animal is trembling in his arms, both out of excitement to see his owner and fear at the stranger in their doorway. ❛ kate, meet li’l cheech. cheech, meet kate! ❜
WELL, HERE’S TO hoping - animals have keener senses than humans. she doesn’t blame the pup for shaking. kate probably still smells like she’s been touched by hell itself. no amount of scrubbing will clean xibalba off of her. she beams at the scrabble of nails against the floor of his apartment. and then the dog is in the boy’s arms, and kate can’t help the small coo that escapes. ‘ hi, baby ! ’ she holds a hand out for cheech to sniff, hoping he’ll get used to her quickly.
